Law enforcement officers in Douglas County regularly cite residents and visitors alike for traffic violations. Similarly, each year, many Nebraskans in this area of the state are charged with all types of criminal wrongdoing. Some of the criminal charges that these individuals face risk significant sentences and collateral consequences in the event of a conviction.

Even convictions for relatively minor offenses can affect someone’s reputation, financial situation, employment and, potentially, their freedom. As a result, if you’ve been charged with a traffic or criminal offense in Douglas County, it’s important to retain experienced counsel from a reputable criminal defense lawyer right away. There is far too much at stake to take a “do-it-yourself” approach to your defense strategy.

Douglas County DUI Defense

Major roads and highways that run through Douglas County include I-80, I-480, I-680, US-6, US-75, and US-275. These roads are prime areas where those passing through the county are stopped for DUI related traffic stops. We are familiar with the tactics of the Douglas County Sheriff’s department, and the Nebraska state patrol, and will defend anyone charged with an alleged defense whether they are a resident of a Douglas County town, or simply passing by.

DUIs can be especially damaging to one’s life, because they come with a wide range of penalties. These penalties compound with each DUI. A First DUI offense doesn’t carry nearly as many penalties as a Second DUI offense or Third DUI offense. Along with that, there are several complications that arise in DUI cases, such as Field Sobriety tests and breath tests. While these tests may incriminate an individual, refusal to submit for a test comes with other complications and penalties. To navigate the complexities of your DUI case, it is important to have the experienced legal counsel of the Liberty Law group by your side. We will  fight tirelessly to get you the best possible result in your DUI case.
